Darrelle and Ee's story began on Coffee Meets Bagel, where Ee’s witty bio about having a group of 11 friends and seeking someone to make a perfect dozen caught Darrelle's attention.
Although Ee thought Darrelle was based in Sydney, she was actually visiting Sydney and had temporarily switched her location. They began chatting online for about 4 months (this was during lockdown period).

Their first meeting was serendipitously timed right after Melbourne’s lockdown ended. They decided on a cozy brunch at Higher Ground, sharing a single dish of eggs benedict.

After the brunch, Ee had to return to Sydney, but their connection continued to grow through nightly FaceTime calls, where they bonded over their shared love of food and got to know each other better. Just as Ee was hoping to see Darrelle again, a new lockdown hit, complicating their plans.

Determined to overcome the obstacles, Darrelle decided to fly to Sydney, hoping to escape the lockdown and perhaps see Ee. However, she found herself right in the middle of Sydney’s lockdown too. To Ee’s surprise, she also announced she had secured a permanent job at an accounting firm in Sydney.

Darrelle thought she was heading for a simple camping trip near Pokolbin, NSW, but when they arrived, things took a mysterious turn. Instead of a typical campsite, they found a massive gate and a shed lit with fairy lights. Inside, a fully equipped kitchen and a relaxing facial setup awaited Darrelle.
While she unwound, Ee quietly stepped away, only to return later, leading her outside to stunning views of an apple orchard. There, under the open sky, Ee dropped to one knee and asked, Will you marry me?
